I watched TIME’s interview with Michelle Williams where she talked about Blue Valentine. She cited this phrase as being the perfect description of what it’s like to be a child in the midst of a divorce. She’s completely right. I don’t care much for the rest of the poem but this description just thoroughly resonates with me.
